Andrew Fortune saw Golconda home on 20 March at Kenilworth . The three year old gelding owned and bred by Peter and Val Fenix and trained by Joey Ramsden has been placed on every start (7 runs) before breaking his maiden status in very soft conditions.

Fenix has nine horses in training, some in partnerships, with Joey Ramsden and Yvonne Bremner in Cape Town and Port Elizabeth respectively.   Their farm, Villa Felice Stud, has retained a few mares and Golconda was bred on the farm from Solskjaer (IRE) – Secret Position by Pole Position (GB).

Peter Fenix is no stranger to the racing scene and has been an active member of the racing fraternity for some 30 years, having been a steward in P.E., Head Executive of the NHA, Council Member of TBA and a director on the RA.
