Variety Club carried on where he left off last season with a smooth performance in the Pinnacle Stakes at Kenilworth yesterday when Jackson also covered himself with glory, running on so well over a distance too short for him that he made up five lengths in the final furlong.
The well-supported Princess Victoria led virtually from the off but Anton Marcus slipped the 8-10 favourite up her inside early in the straight.
He went on 300m from home to beat 16-1 shot Bravura, in the same Ingrid Jooste colours, by a length and a quarter with the Princess weakening into fifth.
